Space Craft — Universe

This particular space craft doesn’t really lend itself well to instructions, but it’s still an idea that’s fun and looks pretty cool. I wanted to share the idea and show off some of my students’ work.
Just give the kids some black paper and chalk and let them draw the universe. I drew an example that had a moon, stars, and a planet that had a ring around it.
Yui came the closest to copying what I made. Check out the nice ring around her planet.

Rina’s is quite good as well. She has multiple planets and rings that just exist with no planet.

But I think my favorite is Tadashi’s. Check out how he clearly ignored my sample picture. But his use of predominantly horizontal lines creates the effect of traveling through space at warp speed.

Anyway, just let them have a go at it. It’s fun to color with chalk because it smears so nicely!
