Squid Craft
Squid Craft

|
This squid craft is very cute and helps young ESL learners to learn their shapes. It fits in perfectly with a “sea” theme.
Materials Needed:
- triangle and rectangle shapes cut from construction paper
- foam shape pieces for the face
- glue
- plastic streamers
- tape
Preparation
Cut a triangle and a rectangle shape out for each student. Use two different colors.
This took about 10 minutes for my class of 12.
In Class
- In class, show students how to put a bit of glue on the short end of the rectangle and glue the triangle to the rectangle.
- Use the foam shapes pieces to make a face for the squid.
- Attach many strips of wide plastic string to the bottom of the squid using a long piece of tape.
Make sure that you are walking through each step slowly. If you have very young students, don’t move on to the next step until you have ensured that all students have finished the previous step.
